We use a set of standards to discuss <a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1021\/acs.analchem.9b04468\">the implications of mixing drift gases for ion mobility experiments<\/a>. We discuss if Blanc&#8217;s Law applies to polyatomic ions. We also address the assumptions made by Asbury and Hill (<i>Anal. Chem.<\/i>\u00a0<span class=\"NLM_year\">2000<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"NLM_volume\"><i>72<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(<span class=\"NLM_issue\">3<\/span>),\u00a0<span class=\"NLM_fpage\">580<\/span>\u2013\u00a0<span class=\"NLM_lpage\">584<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"refDoi\">DOI: 10.1021\/ac9908952) that the polarizability of the drift gas has a linear relationship with CCS that can lead to a &#8220;hard sphere intercept&#8221; through linear regression.
